Our mark

A block built from S and Z.

The SZ symbol is a geometric block made from the letters S and Z, inspired by the structures of a working mine. Its cube form also echoes halite, the mineral behind rock salt, which grows in cubic crystals.

Exploration & surveying

Before anyone commits capital, we establish what the ground holds. Field mapping, sampling and laboratory testing define the extent and quality of a deposit, and how it can be worked safely and economically.

Extraction

We extract to a plan, with trained crews and safety procedures at every working face. Methods are matched to the deposit, including room-and-pillar mining for underground salt seams, where pillars of rock are left in place to keep the workings stable.

Processing & grading

Run-of-mine rock becomes saleable product through crushing, screening and sorting. Each lot is graded by colour, purity and size, so you receive the material you agreed to buy.

It depends on the grade and packing. Export orders are normally full container loads; a 20 ft container carries roughly 25 tonnes of bagged salt. Trial quantities can be discussed for new buyers.
